Episode 633 From Regret to Resilience: Elizabeth “Bizzy” Chance’s Journey of Self Forgiveness
Elizabeth "Bizzy" Chance

Episode 633 comes to you from my window overlooking the Douro River in Porto. After days of walking, writing, and facing some heavy chapters of my past, I finally understood what “not regretting the past nor wishing to shut the door on it” really means. In this episode, I talk about shame, forgiveness, sobriety, and why we must stop carrying stories that no longer serve us. If you’re ready to release old pain and step into something new, join me.

⭐ WHAT I EXPLORE IN THIS EPISODE

  • My journey of self‑forgiveness and what it really means to stop carrying the past

  • How shame, regret, and old stories kept me stuck in low‑frequency emotions

  • The power of pivoting when life demands change

  • What nearly 20 years of sobriety has taught me about acceptance and letting go

  • How solo travel and writing my book in Porto helped me see my life differently

  • The importance of gratitude, presence, and taking emotional responsibility

  • Why I can’t change others — only myself

⭐ KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Self‑forgiveness is where healing begins

  • You can pivot at any moment — your life is not fixed

  • Shame is a heavy, low‑frequency emotion you don’t have to carry

  • You can feel an emotion without becoming it

  • Living in the present is a choice you can make again and again

  • Your past is part of you, but it doesn’t have to define you

  • You are not alone — everyone has a story and everyone is learning

  • Sobriety is more than putting down the drink; it’s learning to live life on life’s terms

  • You can’t control how others see you, only how you grow

  • Taking chances is what creates your life — not the outcomes, but the courage to try

Episode 632: Is Sugar the New Alcohol? With Mike Collins, The Sugar Free Man
Elizabeth "Bizzy" Chance

What if the hardest substance to quit isn’t alcohol… but sugar?

In this eye-opening conversation, I sit down with Mike Collins — known as the “Sugar Free Man” — who has over 40 years in recovery from substance use disorder and decades living sugar-free. After noticing how sugar affected him and others in early sobriety, Mike began researching the powerful connection between sugar, cravings, and addiction. What he discovered changed everything.

We talk about why so many people in recovery replace alcohol with sugar, how sugar can act like a psychoactive substance, and why quitting sweets can feel harder than quitting alcohol. Mike also shares how he raised his children sugar-free in early childhood, rewrote the rules around kids and sugar, and built a community helping thousands break free from sugar addiction.

We also discuss:

  • Why sugar cravings are so intense in recovery

  • Emotional eating and relapse patterns

  • Sugar’s impact on mood and mental clarity

  • The connection between fructose and addiction behavior

  • How to begin reducing sugar without feeling deprived

Mike is the founder of SugarAddiction.com, SugarDetox.com, and QuitSugarSummit.com. Hundreds of thousands have read his book The Last Resort Sugar Detox, and tens of thousands have completed his 30-Day Sugar Freedom Challenge.

If you’ve ever replaced alcohol with sweets, struggled with cravings, or wondered why sugar has such a hold on you — this episode may change how you see recovery.

Episode 629 Why I Didn’t Drink When Life Fell Apart (Easter Gave Me Hope) | Elizabeth Chance
Elizabeth "Bizzy" Chance

Faith, recovery, staying sober through heartbreak, and finding hope during hard times.

In this very personal solo episode of It’s Bizzy / Busy Living Sober, I open up about one of the hardest seasons of my life.

Recently, I’ve been deeply hurt and let down by people I trusted. The pain has been real, and at times it felt overwhelming. I’ll be honest — there were moments when I thought about drinking just to escape the hurt.

But I didn’t.

Instead, I leaned into my recovery, my faith, and the tools that have kept me sober for nearly 20 years.

Recorded on Easter Monday, this episode is about what Easter taught me about suffering, hope, and trusting that God still has a plan even when life feels like it’s falling apart.

I also share why I’m leaving for Europe, what this trip means for me, and why sometimes we have to step outside of our normal environment to see our lives more clearly.

If you’re going through a difficult season right now, please remember:

You are not alone.

I truly believe that miracles can happen when we stay open and willing.

And as always, remember you are not alone — and keep getting busy living sober.

Elizabeth "Bizzy" Chance

How do you go from "calling your shot" at Disney to celebrating 19 years of sobriety while coaching top-tier executives? In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Liz DuBois Erskine, an executive coach and conflict analyst who is pulling back the curtain on what it truly means to lead with authenticity.

Episode 627: I Don’t Know. Nobody. Not Me. The Marker of Adulthood
Elizabeth "Bizzy" Chance

In this episode, I reflect on responsibility, authenticity, and the societal pressures we’re all facing today. Inspired by a recent homily and my own recovery journey, I talk about three phrases I keep hearing everywhere: “I don’t know,” “nobody,” and “not me.” These phrases reveal how easily we avoid accountability — and why taking responsibility is the true marker of adulthood.

I share my thoughts on self-respect, owning our actions, and how personal responsibility plays a critical role in recovery and personal growth. I also discuss celebrity culture, social media’s influence on identity, and how these forces are shaping the way we see ourselves and the world around us.

Finally, I talk about my concerns for younger generations — how distraction, social media, and a lack of foundational knowledge are impacting responsibility, leadership, and confidence.

This episode is about stepping into accountability, embracing growth, and choosing to live with intention — one responsible decision at a time.

Key Topics

• Why responsibility is the marker of adulthood
• “I don’t know, nobody, not me” mindset
• Recovery and radical ownership
• Celebrity accountability
• Social media and avoidance culture
• Self-respect and personal growth
• Teaching responsibility to the next generation
• Faith and personal transformation

Episode 625 Is Your Phone Stealing Your Joy? (How to Break Up with Your Screen)
Elizabeth "Bizzy" Chance

Stop! Put down the phone (after you hit play on this episode, of course!). 📱✨

In Episode 625, I’m getting real about the digital noise that’s living rent-free in our heads. We’ve all been there: you go to check the weather and forty-five minutes later you’re watching a video of a goat playing the piano while feeling a weird sense of "I’m not doing enough."

Today, I’m sharing my personal journey of breaking up with the "scroll-hole" and finding my way back to real life. We’re talking:

·       The Social Media Detox: Why your mental health will thank you for hitting "unfollow."

·       AI & Tech: Is it a tool or a trap? (Spoiler: It’s both).

·       The Power of the Pause: How I’m using silence, nature, and a little bit of prayer to kick anxiety to the curb.

·       Simple Joys: Reclaiming the quiet moments that the "Like" button tried to steal.

It’s time to trade FOMO for the joy of missing out on the nonsense and tuning back into yourself. Let’s get quiet, get centered, and get back to what actually matters.
